Recent News A Month of Events to Support HeartShare

April is Autism Awareness Month and HeartShare is partnering with several businesses and in the community to raise awareness of HeartShare's programs for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders. The following events cover a wide-range of interest areas and there is something for everyone.

Lola's Boutique

On Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, Lola's Boutique will be offering customers 10% off all purchases. Additionally, 10% of all sales this weekend will be donated to HeartShare's programs for individuals with autism. Lola's Boutique is located at 306 86th Street and 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. If you can't make it to the store, 10% of all sales made on its web site, Lola's Boutique during the month of April will also be donated to HeartShare. This is a great opportunity to treat yourself and help HeartShare at the same time.

Harbor Fitness Combat Autism Week

Harbor Fitness is once again sponsoring Combat Autism Week from April 20 through 26 at both of its locations in Brooklyn, NY. Special group fitness classes will be offered to both members and non-members. All proceeds from the classes will benefit HeartShare's programs for children with autism. Blues For Autism Concert

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 25 for the Blues Autism Concert benefiting The HeartShare School, HeartShare's school-age program for children with autism. Music will be performed by The Brooklyn Blues Band. Being held at Peggy O'Neills (1904 Surf Avenue, Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY) doors open at 7:30 pm and the show begins at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased by calling (718) 621-1614 or (718) 323-2877.

Run to Combat Autism

In addition to sponsoring a week of special classes, Harbor Fitness is also co-sponsoring a 5K Run to benefit HeartShare's programs for individuals with autism. The Run will occur on Sunday, April 26 at 10:30 am at the Bay Ridge Harbor Fitness location, 9215 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.
