HeartShare's programs for children, families and the developmentally disabled assist more than 17,000 New Yorkers annually.
Recent News New Playgrounds for Two Children's Programs
Next month, HeartShare will be building new playgrounds at two of its five programs for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. The first playground will be built on Saturday, June 2 at The HeartShare School in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. The second will be built on Thursday, June 28 at the Matilda Raffa Cuomo First Step Early Childhood Center in Richmond Hill, Queens.
Both playgrounds are being built in collaboration with KaBOOM! and two financial partners, Sprint and The Home Depot. KaBOOM! is a nonprofit organization whose mission is a great place to play within walking distance of every kid in America. Volunteers from Sprint and the community will build the Brooklyn playground, and The Home Depot's volunteers will join with community volunteers to build the one in Queens.
HeartShare is grateful to KaBOOM!, Sprint, The Home Depot and all the volunteers that are making this possible. Now, our children will have a safe, fun place to play and grow.
