Recent News Children's Programs's Using New Playgrounds

In June, HeartShare built two playgrounds through partnerships with KaBOOM!, Sprint and The Home Depot for its children to use. The first playground is at The HeartShare School in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, and the second is at the Governor Mario and Matilda Raffa Cuomo First Step Early Childhood Center in Richmond Hill, Queens.

More than 200 volunteers were at each of the build sites to complete this amazing task in one day. What started as an empty lot quickly became filled with swings, play structures, climbing walls and other fun toys for the children to use. Many others donated hours of time to prepare both sites, including removing trees and blacktop at The HeartShare School and old, unsafe play equipment at the Cuomo Center. Members of the community also donated breakfast, lunch and snacks for all the volunteers.

On behalf of the children that will use these playgrounds for years to come, HeartShare extends its deepest appreciation to all who made this possible.
