What services do you offer at your Family Service Centers?
HeartShare's professionally trained and caring staff works with families to develop a plan that best meets their individual needs. Our services include:
- Individual and group counseling for parents, children, and the family
- Training in parenting skills, home management, child development and safety, and budgeting
- Parent support groups
- Socialization groups for adolescents and school-age children
- Assisting with food stamps, public assistance, Medicaid, SSI, or housing
- Aiding with heating fund assistance programs
- Assisting with homemaker services and housing subsidies
- Advocacy with school, child welfare, and other systems
- Referrals for pregnant women and teens
- Information and referrals for other services including: education, day care, employment, immigration, and substance abuse problems
Why would someone need your services?
Families may need HeartShare's services for a variety of reasons including:
- a child who is misbehaving or truant from school
- a runaway child
- issues of domestic violence
- a parent who feels overwhelmed, lonely or depressed
- concerns about the proper care of a child
- physical or sexual abuse of a child
- families facing disruption or loss due to separation/divorce or a life-threatening illness
- adjustment issues for families reunited after the child returns from foster care
- adjustments issues for families reuniting as a result of immigration
- needing help with day care options, health care, WIC, public assistance, and other services
Who is eligible for HeartShare's Family Service Centers?
Families with children under the age of 18 who live in the communities in which HeartShare's programs are located are eligible for services. Referrals are accepted from schools, and community organizations, however, no referral is required for services. For families who do not live in one of these areas, we can refer you to an agency in your neighborhood.
