Ways to Give

Creating a more hopeful and thriving New York City takes all of us.  There are multiple ways to join the mission and expand our impact — whether through time, talent, or treasure.

Donate by wire transfer or check

To give via wire transfer, please contact Verlisa Pettway at 718-422-5905 or email verlisa.pettway@heartshare.org. She will provide all relevant information and process steps.

Gifts via check should be made payable to the specific focus area & entity that you would like to support. This can be HeartShare Human Services for developmental disability programming and Heartshare St. Vincent's Services for child welfare programming.

Checks should be mailed to:

Heartshare
Attn: Development Department
330 Jay Street, 29th Floor
Brooklyn, NY 11201

Donate stock and securities

Gifts of securities held by you, your bank, or your brokerage offer tax advantages for donors and are easy to make. To give by wire transfer, please contact Verlisa Pettway at 718-422-5905 or email verlisa.pettway@heartshare.org to begin the process.

1. Choose what type of stock, and how many shares you want to donate. You’ll need to know the name of the stock, its ticker symbol (for publicly-traded stocks), the number of shares to be donated, and the intended date of the transfer.

2. Contact your financial institution to request the transfer. Provide your broker with the following information: DTC #0433 | Account # P4G003606 for HeartShare Human Services

3. Contact us to inform us of your gift. Please contact us in advance to notify us that you are gifting stock to Heartshare in order to receive your tax receipt.

4. Look for tax receipt and acknowledgement letter from Heartshare, so that you can claim the tax benefits of donating stock to Heartshare.

Host a fundraiser

Hosting a fundraiser is a powerful way to support Heartshare while bringing your friends, colleagues, or community together around a cause that matters. Whether it’s a birthday campaign, corporate event, or creative gathering, your efforts help raise critical funds for children, youth, and families across New York City.

We’ll provide the tools, guidance, and inspiration to make your event both meaningful and impactful. Please contact Mario Principato at 718-422-3213 or email mario.principato@heartshare.org to begin the process.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a meaningful way to leave a lasting legacy that reflects your values and commitment to equity and opportunity. By including Heartshare in your estate plans, you help ensure future generations of New Yorkers have access to the support they need to thrive.

Your gift — no matter the size — makes a powerful difference in promoting health, creating stability, and unlocking futures. We’re here to help you explore the best giving options for your personal, financial, and philanthropic goals.

Matching Gifts

Did you know you can double or even triple your support for Heartshare, without even giving a dollar more? Many employers sponsor matching gift programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees. Gifts from employees’ spouses and retirees may also qualify for a match.

If you volunteer with us, your employer may also offer a volunteer grant program that will make a donation based on your volunteer hours.

Please contact Verlisa Pettway at 718-422-5905 or email verlisa.pettway@heartshare.org to see if you organization has a matching gift program.

Donate Goods

Support Heartshare by donating new, unused items to benefit the lives of children, adults with disabilities, and families in need at Heartshare. From household items to holiday gifts, from furniture to educational supplies, your contributions provide vital support those in our care.

Please contact Mario Principato at 718-422-3213 or email mario.principato@heartshare.org to begin the process.
