A Letter to Our Outstanding Employees

October 26, 2017

Celebrations

Each year, HeartShare and its Family of Services honors a select group of Outstanding Employees at its Annual Employee Recognition Dinner. Here is a letter from our President and CEO to those distinguished individuals:

Dear Colleagues,

When I opened our first group home in 1977, our agency had less than 100 employees. Today, HeartShare and its Family of Services have over 2,100 employees. You have done something special to be nominated. Among hundreds of your colleagues, you distinguished yourself for going the extra mile.

When our jobs are challenging, it is hard to keep going. But we do it for the people in our care. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. A number of your peers took the time to gather their thoughts and express why you should be recognized.

You should be proud of the work you do. You should be proud that you are well-respected and valued by those around you. This year, I would like to recognize:

Barbara Simmons (2013) from our Article 32 Chemical Dependency Clinic, who is a true team player and takes on many additional responsibilities.

Aldeen Dillon (2001) from our Meiers Corners East Residence, who is described as a role model for staff and residents.

Keyzi Villalba (2007) from our Tanyhill Beacon Program, who is an outstanding educator and makes sure that youth feel safe and loved.

Nikisha Steele (2002) from our Foster Boarding Home Preventive Program, who has been helping children find permanency for the past 15 years.

Justine Brown (2011) from our Bensonhurst Preventive Services, who is dedicated to providing exceptional services to families and encourages her staff.

Alee Chery (2016) from Avenue L Day Habilitation Program, who ensures our individuals are fully engaged in activities and motivates their expression through art.

Kenneth (Kenny) Frederick (2015), Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist from Lavin Day Habilitation Program, who is a strong advocate for individuals and staff.

Linda Guarneri (2010) from Cuomo First Step Program, who is an important part of the team and is always willing to lend a helping hand.

Laurelyn Thompson (1996) from our Community Living Program, who is devoted to helping individuals achieve their goals and follows up to make sure those milestones are reached.

Kaileen Hackett (2011) from our Eaton Residence, who is a “Jack of all trades,” doing a little bit of everything with professionalism, grace and humility.

Marilyn Lugo (2008) from our Brooklyn Day Habilitation Program, who goes beyond her duties to ensure the safety and happiness of the individuals she serves.

Dwight Miller (2013) a Direct Support Professional from End Place Residence, who always takes his time to make our individuals feel comfortable.

Monica Tull (2002) from Flatbush ICF, who advocates for our individuals and always makes sure their needs are met.

Melody Chin (2007), who started in our Fiscal Department as a Staff Accountant and currently is a Senior Accountant. She is known by her colleagues as dedicated, organized, positive and cheerful.

Gregory Aristilde (2004) from our IT Department, who has stepped up to help HeartShare adapt to many technological changes throughout the years.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for your incredible efforts.

Keep up the good work.

With gratitude,

Bill Guarinello
