(Brooklyn, NY)–HeartShare Human Services is hosting its Annual Toy and Gift Drive to benefit the children and adults in its care.
“Just one gift is a compassionate gesture that truly will make a difference, especially for those with developmental disabilities and children who are experiencing foster care,” said HeartShare Director of Special Events Danielle Maurice, who organizes the annual collection in partnership with supportive community donors, small businesses and religious organizations.
HeartShare, which primarily receives toys and games for children, is particularly in need of donations for adults with developmental disabilities, including warm clothing, purses or wallets, as well as CDs and DVDs.
HeartShare’s Toy and Gift Drive originated with a generous donation from Dan and Fran Maniscalco. The Maniscalcos’ efforts began with a truck load of toys from the family, initially expressing their gratitude for HeartShare’s role in connecting the couple to their foster and adoptive son, Michael, in 1987. Since that time, the Maniscalcos have led this annual HeartShare tradition.
If you or your company are interested in donating to the children and adults in HeartShare’s care, please contact HeartShare Director of Special Events Danielle Maurice directly at 718-422-4283 or by email.
Donated gifts may also be shipped no later than Tuesday, December 15 to HeartShare Human Services of New York to the attention of Danielle Maurice at 12 MetroTech Center, 29th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201.
