HeartShare is thrilled to announce that the 2021 HeartShare Annual Report has received a prestigious Gold Award in the 2022 International Annual Report Competition. The ARC Awards, dubbed the “Academy Awards of Annual Reports” by financial media, is the world’s largest independent competition honoring excellence in annual reports and corporate communications. Now in its 36th year, the competition is open to public and private corporations, government agencies, nonprofits and associations, with entries from 85 countries. Winning an ARC Award is one of the highest accolades an annual report can receive, with winners selected on the qualities of creativity, clarity, effectiveness and innovation.

HeartShare’s 2021 Annual Report, titled “Portraits of Perseverance,” captures an unprecedented year, when the global pandemic pushed people to their physical and emotional limits and then asked them to keep going. The Report features striking portraits of masked staffers and people in HeartShare’s care paired with stirring quotes that illuminate the depth of feelings in their eyes: Hopeful, thoughtful, tired, determined, defiant. The Report was created by HeartShare’s Communications and Marketing team: VP Larry Closs and Art Director Andy Moeller.

“I believe in letting creatives be creative, and this is why,” says HeartShare President and CEO Bill Guarinello. “Larry Closs and Andy Moeller produced a spectacular piece of work that perfectly captures a moment in time, a year like no other. Years from now, the 2021 Annual Report will continue to resonate as a time capsule from one of the most challenging years on record. Kudos and congratulations!”
